A brand new software has been launched for landlords. It is to help them record and value contents and assets in their fully furnished properties.

Millions of landlords have recently been at risk of not being able to make an accurate home contents insurance claim in the event of a burglary, fire accidental damage or flood, this is because up until now landlords have not been able to record and value their assets properly.

The company who have introduced the new software are called Readclaim and they are a web hosted asset management system. They help landlords manage fixed and mobile assets, the items are usually furniture, carpets and other items that may be in their let properties.

Property owners may have to pay higher premiums even though they may not pay out, proof of contents and values cannot be provided and this is often stated in policy documentation small print.

This software is an online tool and it can be accessed by PC, iphone and by android app. With this being software that can be used on a mobile phone, it makes it much easier to take digital images of your assets in each room of your property. You can also take snaps of any documents you may need to upload, for example invoices, valuations and/or reciepts. You then attach them to the asset icon and then upload onto the readclaim’s secure server.

The people behind Readyclaim have launched this software to help combat claims disputs and help property owners get the true value of their assests. It is basically a contents calculator for landlords.

The founder of Readyclaim, Tim Roots said: “Not being able to prove the value of contents or being under insured can be a real issue for landlords with multiple properties, as insurers may not pay out the full cost to replace lost or damaged items.

“Not many of us realise that insurers will ask for proof of ownership in the event of a substantial claim, which can include purchasing documentation and photographs.

“With the readyclaim system, landlords are given total peace of mind, knowing that they have an accurate and real-time account of their assets stored on our secure server, thus removing the chance of long, expensive and drawn out insurance disputes.”

A readyclaim account costs £11.99 for a year or £23.00 for three years, you can download the app for your phone and sign up for an account from their website
